BBC One reveals a first look at the full judging line-up for Britain's Best Cook, announcing that Mary Berry will be joined by Dan Doherty and Chris Bavin.
Together they will judge the brand new cookery competition celebrating truly exceptional home cooks, presented by Claudia Winkleman and due to air later this year.
One of London's most prominent and creative chefs, Dan Doherty is currently Chef Director at one of the city's most celebrated restaurants, Duck and Waffle.
Having started his career as a graduate of The Royal Academy of Culinary Arts, Dan is known for his innovative, playful and indulgent cooking style, with a number of awards and accolades now under his belt.
He recently released his second book focused on the recipes he cooks at home for family and friends. In his role as judge, Dan is on the hunt for inventive home cooks with hidden kitchen talents.
Mary Berry said: "It's an absolute joy to be judging truly passionate home cooks with Dan and Chris. Like our contestants, we each have different backgrounds and ways of looking at food. I have to admit the boys have already taught me a thing or two!"
Former market trader Chris Bavin has worked in importing, wholesaling, retailing, food service and catering.
Chris co-founded his retail business The Naked Grocer and has since gone on to TV success fronting a range of shows including Eat Well for Less, Tomorrow's Food, Food: Truth or Scare and The Truth about Meat.
First announced with Mary and Claudia last year, Britain's Best Cook is a brand new competition that will see 10 passionate, skilled home cooks from across the country face a comprehensive range of culinary challenges from fabulous feasts to the nation's favourite dishes, and all things in between.
Dan Doherty said: "Right now British cuisine is more exciting and diverse than ever – we're a nation of home cooks with different influences and hidden talents.
"In the competition I'm looking to discover which of our competing cooks has the technical ability and creative skill to deliver inspiring and inventive dishes.
"It's a pleasure to be judging alongside Mary and Chris, and I can't wait to taste what our cooks come up with."
Chris Bavin said: "I've spent 20 years in food produce and know that a good understanding of ingredients will be key to giving us delicious dishes, but just as important is the ability to adapt and be resourceful – anyone who cooks will know that in a kitchen anything can happen!"
Charlotte Moore, Director of BBC Content said: "A delectable trio of cooking talent has been chosen to sit at the top table to judge Britain's Best Cook.
"Head judge Mary will be joined by two new men in the kitchen to put our cooks to the test: Dan's skills and creative flair combined with Chris' knowledge of family food are set to spice things up on BBC One.
"And with Claudia presenting, keeping them all in check, the competition looks to be an unmissable treat for everyone."
Britain's Best Cook was commissioned by Charlotte Moore, Director of Content, and David Brindley, Head of Commissioning, Popular Factual and Factual Entertainment, and is being made by KEO Films where the Executive Producers are Andrew Palmer, Matt Cole, Claire Nosworthy, Clare Paterson.
