My Chemical Romance: Criticism
American critics have been blown away by the band's comeback performances.
The Hollywood Reporter called their LA show "a triumphant and theatrical return to 'The Black Parade'."
The outlet raved: "MCR's performance of The Black Parade in its totality would've been a hot ticket no matter what, but the band's dedication to a full storytelling experience can't be overstated."
Variety agreed, praising the show as "a full-on theatrical production."
The review added: "To the beat of a militaristic drum, with actors depicting despots and soldiers, the band took the stage donned in black marching band uniforms evoking the album's original concept art."
Crowds were said to be "swaying, singing and moshing along" as Gerard Way embodied the tragic protagonist of the band's most iconic album.
