THE VOTES are in and Jumpsuit by Twenty One Pilots has claimed top spot in BBC Radio 1's Hottest Record of the Year – beating the likes of The 1975, Arctic Monkeys and Florence + The Machine.
Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac announced the news on her popular show last night (December 6). Her listeners were able to vote for their favourite tracks using the Radio 1 website and social media.
Twenty One Pilots told The Entertainment Gazette: "I knew all that voting we did would pay off. It's one of our favourite songs to play live and favourite songs in general."
Known for breaking some of the biggest and newest music on the planet, Annie features her Hottest Record in the World every Monday to Friday at 7.30pm on BBC Radio 1.
Annie said: "Hottest Record Of The Year is a chance to celebrate the incredible array of music I have the pleasure of launching every single week night.
"It's a great cross section of the best music of the year and a chance for us to really engage with the many passionate music fans that listen to our show.
"It was so exciting to play Jumpsuit for the first time, there were people locked in form all over the world and it felt like a truly exciting and inclusive radio moment. I'm delighted for them."
