RECOVERED TV star Ant McPartlin is returning to television screens in the New Year with Declan Donnelly for Britain's Got Talent and the new series of I'm A Celeb, ITV has announced.
It was reported in The Sun newspaper that the Geordie superstar will return to his TV commitments after completing rehab following his drink-driving arrest earlier this year.
The report revealed that the 43-year-old is to join Declan Donnelly for the January auditions of Britain's Got Talent. He is also expected to head out to the Australian jungle for I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.
McPartlin battled with drug addiction, forcing him to miss the live Britain's Got Talent episodes last year, as well as this year's entire series of I'm A Celeb where This Morning's Holly Willoughby stepped in to help.
A source close to Ant said: "He has completed his recovery and ITV has decided he is ready to be back at work for Britain's Got Talent filming, which starts next month.
"It's been an incredible difficult two-year period but he has been entirely focused on turning his life around in order to return to work. ITV is excited about Ant and Dec being reunited."
It was also reported that next year's series of Saturday Night Takeaway, which requires a lot of filming before the show airs, has been cancelled to allow Ant more time to fully recover.
