PIERS Morgan has sent out support to Ant McPartlin after he was charged with drink-driving.
The Good Morning Britain host has told his 6.4 million Twitter followers that he hates seeing the Geordie presenter "like this" and that "he needs to sort himself out".
The statement comes just days after Ant was charged with drink-driving after allegedly crashing his car into two cars in west London on Sunday March 18.
Hate to see Ant McPartlin like this. He's a great guy (genuinely, a delight to work with in an industry full of…. less delightful people) who's obviously going through a lot of inner turmoil. Just hope he now gets the proper time & help he needs to sort himself out. pic.twitter.com/9Gp5pYDb8q

Ant has since checked into rehab and his TV partner in crime, Declan Donnelly, has confirmed he will be presenting the final two shows of Saturday Night Takeaway without him.
Piers said: "Hate to see Ant McPartlin like this.
"He's a great guy (genuinely, a delight to work with in an industry full of…. less delightful people) who's obviously going through a lot of inner turmoil.
"Just hope he now gets the proper time & help he needs to sort himself out."
After several paparazzi shots of a 'sad looking' Dec appeared in Britain's tabloids, the 42-year-old spoke out to concerned fans in a message on Twitter.

Dec said: "Whilst I never thought I'd be in this position, after much discussion and careful consideration we've decided that the remaining two shows of this series of Saturday Night Takeaway will go ahead.
"We made a promise to take hundreds of deserving winners to Florida to watch the series finale, and we will honour that.
"Everyone at ITV and the Takeaway team feels we owe it to the audience to complete the series. Dec x."
