BRITAIN is about to receive some much-needed hot weather – get ready to dust off your beach towels and actually spend some quality time outside!
The Met Office has revealed that our short-lived day in the sun last weekend was the warmest day since October 2017, when temperatures reached a high of 19.6C in Surrey.
Experts believe that was a mere taster of what's to come as temperatures are set to hit 22C as a spell of warm weather is set to hit the UK.
The Sun Online reported that conditions are set to considerably improve on Friday (April 13) with temperatures around 19C.
The weather is set to improve even more on Saturday with temperatures reaching 22C on Sunday, one degree warmer than Kefalonia in Greece.
Nicky Maxey, Met Office forecaster, said: "Those warmer temperatures certainly look as though they're continuing into next week.
"So as we go through much of next week the indications are generally for warm weather, perhaps very warm in places."
The Met Office predicts the warm weather will continue into April.
A spokesman said: "It will be locally warm in central and south-eastern areas, with a marked changed for the east and north-east, where it will be warmer than of late.
"Colder conditions may return to eastern coasts, but for many, temperatures are likely to be above average towards the end of the period, with a reduced chance of rain.
"Initially, it will probably be fine and dry, with sunny spells and a reduced chance of rain or showers.
"Temperatures are also likely to be above average for the time of year."
