ANGER and upset was caused today as not everyone managed to get their hands on Greggs' new flagship vegan sausage roll.
It wasn't a matter of low stock; it was that some of Britain's 'smaller' stores did not receive any to sell to their customers.
Melanie Baldwin from Christchurch woke up "extra early" so that she could be first to get her hands on the new vegan-friendly treat.

She was left disappointed after the manager explained that the store had not received any of the pastries and that she should try again next week.
Ms Baldwin said: "The poor manager had to break the very difficult news to me that they haven't got any [sausage rolls]. I opted for a croissant instead."
Over in March in Cambridgeshire, locals were outraged to find that their local Greggs also didn't have any of the vegan sausage rolls to sell.

One resident told the local Cambs Times Newspaper that she felt "left out" and that "March is always forgotten when it comes to things like this".
The new vegan sausage roll, launched today (January 3), still has the famous Greggs puff pastry but now has a "bespoke" Quorn filling.
The launch comes after 20,000 people signed a petition by animal welfare organisation Peta to urge the bakery chain to produce a vegan pastry.
